This September 10 comes the fourth film in the Resident Evil movie series and the first movie in the series to be released in 3D – the Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D. The science –fiction-action-horror movie was largely based on Capcom’s survival horror video game series that not only a hit in the moviegoers but also in the world of the video-gamers. Paul W. S. Anderson is back for the second time as the movie director since his first work in the Resident Evil movie in 2002. Director Anderson is also the Resident Evil film series writer and producer on its all four movie hits.
With the budget of $ 60 million filming took place in Toronto from September to December 2009 using James Cameron's 3D Fusion Camera System or more specifically using a Sony F35 camera to give a high quality of visual effects. Eric Roberston, the visual effects production manager of the movie described the looks of the movie in his recent media interview – Interesting contrasts, pure whites, which is a staggering look. It’s so clean and tight along with some real darkness too that may evoke a bit of a feel of Silent Hill. So we’ve got the extremes. But it’s definitely a unique look for this incarnation and it’s been fun to see those looks.
So the news is out that Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D will feature extreme visual effects in an eerie and ominous environment that will make its anticipating fans shiver with fear. Alice (Milla Jovovich) is the back, so too, the return of her sidekicks Claire Redfield (Ali Larter) and Jill Valentine (Sienna Guillory) to combat the superhuman Umbrella Corporation Chairman Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts) and his Umbrella zombies. It is told in the movie plot that for the first time in the Resident Evil movie series, Alice will face her archenemy Albert Wesker in a face to face deadly combat. Aside from that first deadly combat between Alice and Wesker, the movie will also feature a primary character from the video games for the first time in the movie franchise. That primary character is Chris Redfield (Wentworth Miller), Claire’s older brother.
